Morven Glennie

I'm a Scottish Athletics Level 2 athletics coach and one half of the Friday night track session double act, alongside my dad. Between us, we deliver sessions that often look suspiciously hard on paper but are definitely good for you, with plenty of encouragement, experience, and the occasional "just one more rep" moment.
I've been around the club for over 20 years, which isn't surprising given my parents started it when I was much younger! While they were busy setting up a running club, I was doing my homework in the high school with the janitor, so getting involved myself was pretty much inevitable.
I'm a keen runner with a real love for road marathons, but I'll happily race anything with a start line - road, trail, or cross country… Maybe not so happily at cross country. My favourite place to run is Club La Santa in Lanzarote, especially during the International Running Challenge, where great racing, sunshine and recovery by the pool make even the hardest sessions feel worthwhile.
On a Friday night, expect structured training, plenty of banter, and the combined coaching wisdom of two generations – whether you asked for it or not.
